How can I use the library if I don't live in Missoula?

Answer

Faculty, Staff & Students

Current faculty, staff and students who need to access the library remotely can still use all of our electronic resources and interlibrary loan services! Log in with your NetID and password, either on the OneSearch results page after you enter a search, or by using the "My Library Accounts" link from the homepage.

More information is available on our Library Services for Online & Distance Students guide.

Articles not available through our library can be requested through interlibrary loan (ILL) and will be delivered electronically as PDFs.

If you live over 50 miles from Missoula, you may request to receive physical items from our collections in the mail. Please email library.circ@mso.umt.edu to request this. Please include your mailing address.

Montana Borrowers

Montana Borrowers do not have access to our electronic subscriptions, but they can search Open Access (OA) scholarship by applying the Open Access filter in OneSearch. New to OA? Learn more here!

Montana Borrowers that don't live in town will need to use interlibrary loan from their local libraries to request items from our libraries.

Please call the Check Out Desk at (406)243-4071 and ask to speak with a circulation supervisor if you have questions!
